WATCH

Watch your thoughts, they become your words.
Watch your words, they become your actions.
Watch your actions, they become your habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, for it will become your destiny.

Brisingr (Inheritance: Book 3) Brisingr by Christopher Paolini

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
Paolini’s Brisingr gripped me its riveting story and descriptive plots. This book is the third in it’s once was trilogy and is now a series of four books. Brisingr is a great read for all young and old as long as you have your imagination to help in the aid of the story. In my opinion, this is an excellent read.

What I like most about this book are the characters. The characters as a whole aren’t very different, however separately they are diverse. One of the main protagonists reminds me of certain people I know; their personalities are to kind and it gets them into trouble. Another protagonist is youthful and yet is wiser than one should for their age. Some other characters make me feel happy that they make certain decisions that are based on rational thought and not just impulse decisions. Most of this entire book’s main point is if you have to do something important just do it and accept the consequences.

The plot is a fictional plot, and is basically about a simple farm boy whose life was intertwined in their world’s current events of a rebellion against a tyrant king when he had received a stone. The stone had turned out to be an egg, but not just any egg a dragon’s egg. The reader follows him on his incredible journey across the land to rid it of the tyrant.

Brisingr is one of the most fantastic books I’ve read and I am recommending it and the series to anyone who isn’t blind.

Salem witch trials

When I was there it was frightening and unpredictable. It seemed hopeless to try to convince others that I was not a witch. They were bombarding me with questions and false statements. They ask “Are you a witch?” I say “No.” They ask again “Are you a witch?” I reply “No.” Afterward, they stop asking and start accusing me of being a witch. They ask “Why don’t I confess to being a witch?” In vain, they tried to persuade me into telling them that I am a witch. They can’t decide what to do to me when the day is over, so they throw me into jail until tomorrow. There they chain me up to wait until morning. After the first day of questioning they have nearly convinced me that I am a witch. After a sleepless night, they debate in the morning how to know if I am a witch. They gather several others that have also been accused of being a witch and line us up to be tried. When it’s my turn to be judged, my friends try to convince the people whom decided the final verdict. They tell the people that decide our fates about how kind, just, and caring we are and how we couldn't be a witch. Most of the people of the village know that most of the people being tried are good people; however they do not want to take that chance. Guilty! We are sentenced to hang, today. We stand on the gallows waiting to be hung. As we wait the master wizard repeats “Our Father, which art in heaven. . . .” He speaks each phrase perfectly, and the crowd marvels in astonishment. No witch or wizard could say the Lord's prayer. He hangs as do the rest of us. As I choke to death I keep to my faith as the lights go out.

Anything that comes to my mind!!!!!

What is it that keeps everything going? Simple, God. Why can't I figure anything out? Is  it because I'm not trying to or am I hopeless? In my opinion, life is one huge maze filled with choices. Except there is an interesting characteristic to this maze, that is that no matter which way you go you will always complete the maze. Sometimes some choices make your life shorter or more difficult. But once we finish this maze we die and enter the next life. We can't complete the maze on our own because we need God's help. The reason we go through this maze and not shorten the suffering is simply, hope. Our hope, the hope of others, and the hope of all we believe in. If there is hope for you then you are not hopeless. Even if you don't know if someone hopes for you there is at least one more hope for you for every hope you have and you will always have at least one that hopes for you, God. And, if you believe and trust and know that God is good then you will never lose. Points on the score board mean nothing if you do because no matter what the score looks like you will always win. And, without God we are nothing we are basically a broken robot without purpose without direction, and without life. If you don't get anything out of this entire paragraph, will start listening right now!!! Because what I am about to tell you this instant sums up my point. So next time you see someone down and out for the count don't just sit there on the side-lines, get up and help make a difference. Lift them up off the ground and set them down where they can heal, and help heal them. Don't just leave and say to you that they are fine. God, in my opinion, helps us both directly and indirectly, and if we can't see it then that's our problem. Also in my observation, when he helps indirectly  it is typically through other people. So, if someone offers their help don't tell them to "F-off" and that God is going to help you, because God is right there trying to help you through someone else. If you do tell them to "F-off" you aren't only hurting yourself by not accepting the help you are are also hurting the person trying to help. Why? Because the next time they see someone down and out for the count they will remember, the last time they tried to help someone. And, remember even if you don't want to help or do a good deed then don't do it because you want to do it, but because it is the right thing to do.

I was not asleep!!! Zzzzzz...

Today's lit circleI was listing quietly while others carried on the conversation, occasionally adding in on the others discussion. Our group's conversation was very astute and I was helping by contributing to our groups conversation. So, it was a good first lit circle to get started with in reading "Sunrise over Fallujah".
